1. What this policy covers
This policy governs payments made to Nirmaan Learning LLP (LLPIN ACM-8695) for access to the Nirmaan learning service, whether you use it through the Android app com.nirmaan.studentapp or through nirmaan.education.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with the personal data involved in a transaction. Where this policy and any written agreement with a school conflict, the school agreement governs that school’s purchase.
2. What you are paying for
A Nirmaan subscription gives the named learner access to the AI tutor and the learning content for the duration of the subscription period. It is a licence to use a service for a period of time, not a purchase of goods and not a permanent licence. Access ends when the subscription ends.
Nirmaan is a study aid. We do not promise any particular examination result, grade or academic outcome, and no refund is available on the basis that a learner’s results did not improve.
3. Where purchases are made
Subscriptions are purchased on our website at nirmaan.education. When you check out, you are handed to our payment gateway’s secure page to enter your payment details, and returned to us once the payment succeeds.
The Android app does not sell digital content inside the app. Downloading the app from Google Play is free, and Google is not a party to your subscription contract with us. Any question, complaint or refund request about a subscription should come to us, not to Google.
4. Who may make a purchase
Nirmaan teaches learners aged 10 and above, so most of our learners are children. Only a person aged 18 or over may make a purchase. If the learner is under 18, the subscription must be bought by their parent or lawful guardian, who becomes our contracting party and is responsible for payment.
By making a purchase you confirm that you are 18 or over, that the payment method belongs to you or that you are authorised to use it, and that you are the learner or the learner’s parent or guardian.
If a child has made a payment using an adult’s payment method without permission, contact us at hello@nirmaan.education within 30 days of the charge and we will cancel the subscription and refund it in full.
5. Plans, pricing and taxes
- Current plans, subscription periods and prices are shown on our pricing page and again on the checkout screen before you confirm. The price displayed at checkout is the price you pay.
- All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹).
- Your bank or card issuer may apply its own charges, such as a foreign transaction fee. Those are outside our control and are not refundable by us.
6. Payment methods and security
Payments are processed by an external payment gateway authorised to operate in India. We accept the methods the gateway supports, which typically include UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets.
We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net banking credentials. Those are entered directly with the gateway, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We receive only a transaction reference, the amount, the status of the payment and, where the gateway provides it, the last four digits and card type for your own reference.
7. Billing, renewals and receipts
- When you are charged. The first payment is taken when you confirm the purchase. Access begins immediately on successful payment.
- Auto-renewal. If you choose a recurring plan, it renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, using the mandate you set up at checkout, until you cancel. We will tell you before we take a renewal payment, as required by the Reserve Bank of India’s rules on recurring transactions.
- One-time plans. If you choose a non-recurring plan, it does not renew. Access ends on the last day of the period and we will not charge you again.
- Receipts. A receipt and GST invoice are emailed for every successful payment.
8. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time, with no cancellation fee, in either of these ways:
- in the app, under Profile → Subscription → Cancel; or
- by emailing hello@nirmaan.education from the address on the account.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your current period — you keep access until the period you have already paid for runs out, and you are not charged again. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account; to delete your account and data, see section 14 of the Privacy Policy.
9. Refunds
We would rather give your money back than keep a payment from someone who is not getting value from Nirmaan. The rules below are what we commit to.
| Situation | What you get |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days of your first payment on a new subscription | Full refund, no questions asked. Access ends when the refund is issued. |
| Within 48 hours of an auto-renewal charge, where you had not meaningfully used the service in the new period | Full refund of that renewal charge |
| A duplicate charge, a failed transaction that was still debited, or a charge you did not authorise | Full refund of the incorrect amount |
| The service was unavailable for a prolonged period because of a fault on our side | A pro-rata refund or an equivalent extension of your subscription, whichever you prefer |
| A child purchased without an adult’s permission, reported within 30 days | Full refund and cancellation |
| You cancel part-way through a period, outside the windows above | No refund for the unused remainder. You keep access until the period ends. |
| We terminate your access for a serious breach of our terms, such as abuse of the service or sharing an account | No refund |
How to request a refund
Email hello@nirmaan.education from the address on the account, with the subject Refund request, and include the transaction reference from your receipt and a line about what went wrong. You do not need to justify a request made inside the 7-day window.
We acknowledge refund requests within 3 working days and decide within 7 working days. Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method — we cannot refund to a different account. Once we issue the refund, your bank or card issuer typically takes a further 5 to 10 working days to credit it, which is outside our control. If we decline a refund, we will tell you why in writing.
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law.
10. Failed, duplicate and disputed payments
- A payment failed but money left your account. This is usually a temporary hold that your bank reverses on its own within 5 to 7 working days. If it has not reversed by then, write to us with the transaction reference and we will chase the gateway and refund you.
- You were charged twice. Tell us and we will refund the duplicate in full.
- Before raising a chargeback, please contact us first. A chargeback takes months to resolve through your bank; we can usually settle the same issue in a few days. We will always cooperate with a genuine dispute.
- Fraudulent chargebacks. If a chargeback is raised in bad faith, we may suspend the account until the dispute is resolved.
11. Changes to pricing
We may change our prices. A change never affects a subscription period you have already paid for. If a price increase will apply to your renewal, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the renewal date, so you have time to cancel if you do not want to continue. Continuing past the renewal date means you accept the new price.
12. School and institutional purchases
Schools and institutions buying seats for their students are invoiced directly rather than paying at checkout. Commercial terms — number of seats, per-seat price, term, payment schedule, purchase-order handling and refund arrangements — are set out in the agreement signed with the school, and that agreement takes precedence over sections 5 to 11 of this policy. Write to hello@nirmaan.education to discuss an institutional plan.
13. Non-payment and suspension
If a renewal payment fails, we will retry it and tell you, so you can update your payment method. If payment is still not received after a reasonable number of attempts, the subscription lapses and paid features stop. Your account and learning history are not deleted at that point — they remain available under the retention periods in our Privacy Policy, so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe.
14. Contact and grievance redressal
